Biografie
I am a PhD candidate at the University of Bern and previously worked as a scientific associate at the Museum der Kulturen Basel, where I researched the Mongolian Ernst Collection.
My doctoral research focuses on ultra-contemporary women artists in Mongolia, examining how they engage with religion and gender in their artworks, the roles these themes play in their personal lives, and how these experiences are reflected in their creative practices. I am also interested in broader artistic trends in Mongolia and in questions concerning art and gender in Asia.
I earned my Master’s degree in Religious Cultures from the University of Bern and my Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies and Social Anthropology from the University of Basel. Since my Master’s studies, I have been learning Mongolian, both contemporary Khalkha Mongolian and the traditional Mongolian script, and did several months of field research in Ulaanbaatar.
